At the service project on Saturday, three Webelos joined us and work very hard for 3 hours.  Cole, Lance, and Ben all pitched in, got dirty, and finished our tasks.  Either Ben or Lance even found some baby mice and saved them from getting trampled in our work area.

We cleaned out the path to the meditation bench - it was so overgrown, I didn't even know there was a path there but you should see it now!   Plus, we repaired and stained the firewood rack that the Phoenix built last year.

If these Webelos are an indication of what to expect crossing over in the spring, it's going to be a GREAT year for E.P. boy scout troops.  Troop 479 is trying to provide opportunities for these Webelos to meet us and see if we're the troop for them or not.

• Webelos joined us at our service project.  This helped them earn their Summit Achievement award.
• Webelos are joining us on the Camporeee.  We'll provide them with tents and they will join patrols for meals.
• Isaiah B and Andrew F are both beginning their roles as Den Chiefs for dens in Pack 479.
• The 4th annual Scout-o-rama on November 1 gets all the E.P. Webelos outside and learning some scout skills.  This helps them with their Arrow of Light requirements.
• We'll be having Webelos visiting us at troop meetings the next few months so keep your eyes open.

Showing these younger scouts what's important in your troop and how you live the Scout Law is a super way you can help them continue on in their scouting career.  Please make the effort to participate in our Webelos-oriented activities and welcome these soon-to-be-Boy Scouts.
