- Earn the Traffic Safety, Safety, or Fire Safety merit badge
- Advance 1 rank
- Advance 2 ranks
- Earn 1 Eagle palm
- Fulfill duties in a troop leadership position for 6 months
- Attend training for your troop leadership position
- Attend church on Scout Sunday wearing your scout uniform
- Go on a pre-approved patrol campout (at least 1/2 patrol)
- Complete a patrol Good Turn (at least 1/2 patrol, not a troop service project)
- Earn Totin' Chip, Firem'n Chit, and Tech Chip
